I’m an avid blog reader. There are a few blogs I check on every day, but mostly I just click around from the different links they post and see what’s out there. Believe it or not there are a few really good blogs run and/or created by well-known celebrities. I love reading about celebrities and looking at gossip sites (no shame!) but it’s interesting to see a completely different, and more personal, side to them through their blogs.

In my opinion, these are a handful of the best blogs created/run by celebrities.

The Beauty Department: Created by Lauren Conrad and her two friends Kristin Ess and Amy Nadine. The Beauty Department is one of the blog’s I check every day because it is visually stunning and has useful tips for all your hair and makeup needs. I’m determined to perfect my makeup and hair skills, even though it’s unlikely, but I love looking and reading through all TBD posts. Plus, TBD posts step-by-step pictures and explains how to do cute hairstyles, winged eyeliner, smokey eyes, etc. which makes it a lot easier for unskilled people like me!

you, me & charlie: Glee actress Dianna Agron started a Tumblr page called [felldowntherabbithole] to share the things she loved including books, music, pictures, etc. As her blog grew, readers were sending her their favorite mixtapes, books and all other goodies related to what Dianna was posting. She then launched you, me & charlie that encompasses everything positive about life and art. Why the name Charlie? Dianna never really felt like she was a “Dianna” and someway or another was always led back to the name Charlie through stories, screenplays and old school papers.

HelloGiggles: Founded by one of my favorite actresses, Zooey Deschanel, HelloGiggles is “…an entertainment destination for smart, independent and creative females.” It’s a positive community for everything from DIY projects to pets to pop culture. Plus, readers can contribute to the site daily! If you’re having a bad day, I highly suggest checking out HelloGiggles for a sure way to bring a smile to your face.

goop: Gwyneth Paltrow began goop in 2008 to share all of life’s positive things with the world. Her idea started as giving readers a quick and easy way to go about life publishing weekly issues. Goop has become an Internet sensation…and a girl’s best friend. You’ll find delicious recipes, travel guides, wellness tips and more through goop’s online subscription.
